Fun Fact #2 Dogs have better vision than humans at night

Ever wondered why your dog looks like it has scary ghostly eyes at night? Much like cats, dogs have this special layer behind their retinas, which is light reflecting. This layer is called the Tapetum Lucidum, and it usually appears green or yellow, with some slight variation sometimes. Don't worry, it's not your pet getting possessed by the monster under your bed! Humans don't have this reflective layer, so whenever bright light hits our eyes, our eyes has the "red-eye" effect, which is actually light being reflected off the blood vessels in the back of our eyes. Interesting, isn't it!
